Fishing

Friday, Russ and Brice got the boat ready and we headed out to give it a run. We weren't really going to catch fish (or not a lot of fish) so were pretty happy to come home with 6 tailor, 1 black and 1 pink snapper. It was my first time trolling for tailor, so I enjoyed that. We were only in a couple of metres of water, circling a small island (big rock?) and each circle caught us a tailor. We brought them home and Russ smoked them for us and Brice. I made a lovely fish pie from the last one Russ caught and smoked earlier in the week.

A Big Pink

We left around 11am and were back around 3, stopped for lunch in a very pretty spot and just had a nice time. I loved seeing Eagle Bluff, Fowler's Camp and a number of other spots we've driven to, from the water this time. It was an overcast day that threatened rain all the way out (and did on the way home) but the water was steel grey and like glass.
